Dr. Scott graduated from Wellesley College, where she majored in biology and psychology, and conducted research on children's perceptions of food and body image. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology from Vanderbilt University. Her research focused on the influences of gender on individuals' interests and emotional experiences. Dr. Scott completed her Clinical Internship at Duke University's Counseling and Psychological Service, where she was a member of the University's Eating Disorder Treatment Team, and worked closely with the school's Sexual Assault Support Service. She continued her education as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Rochester, serving students, faculty and staff through the Department of Psychiatry's Counseling and Mental Health Service. Dr. Scott spent several years as Staff Psychologist at the Counseling Service of the University of the South, in Sewanee, TN. She moved to Pennsylvania in 2003, and is enjoying her private practice and occasional teaching within Penn State's College of Health and Human Development. Dr. Scott is a member of the American Psychological Association, and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Tennessee and New York State. Dr. Scott enjoys working with a variety of clients, and has particular interests in helping people address depression, anxiety, eating and body image concerns, traumatic experiences, and relationship issues.
